Dr Tina Pereira is an intermediary in the criminal justice system in England and Wales, where she works with vulnerable witnesses, defendants, suspects and other parties (family courts). Tina also has over 30 years working as a speech and language therapist with individuals with a range of neurodevelopmental conditions.

Tina currently serves on the Registered Intermediary Reference Team, advising the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) on a range of operational matters relating to intermediaries. She was previously on the MoJ’s training team that provided training to potential intermediaries. Tina has written and delivered training and presentations to practitioners and academics both in the UK and overseas.

She is an Honorary Research Fellow at City St George’s, University of London. Tina has a special interest in using low technology communication aids in justice settings and has written journal articles and book chapters on various aspects of vulnerability.
