Mark Thomas

Secretary of TAG

Mark is a practising criminal barrister on the North Eastern Circuit, practising entirely in criminal law both prosecuting and defending in the Crown Court. Formerly, Mark was a lecturer at Nottingham Trent University where he engaged in research relating to vulnerable witnesses and the practical realities of special measures. He continues to teach part-time at NTU in Criminal Law and Equity and Trusts.

Mark is the Secretary to TAG and manages the website. As part of his role as Secretary, Mark is responsible for the management of the TAG Toolkits, including their updating and formatting, and the TAG Constitution.

Mark has taught law for a number of years at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. He specialises in criminal law, evidence and procedure, having published a number of undergraduate textbooks on Criminal Law and Evidence, including the ever-popular SQE-preparation book, Revise SQE. Mark has vast experience in the management and delivery of conferences; successfully delivering TAG's Third Annual Conference, in conjunction with Nottingham Law School's Centre for Advocacy.
